I've finished fixing up Watership--it was an easy one, as there weren't many fixes needed, but Dreamscape will be more difficult, as I have to expand on quite a few aspects, including the ending! It'll end up being my longest book so far, I think!
I'm also going to re-do Dance of Desolation's cover, as it gets closer to publication (starting to get those beta reading critiques back!) I want it to be the best it can be!

Another author interview! Bit of a different one.
http://www.drunkendruidawards.com/#!blogger-feed/c1st1/post/4811800635549526748 Not only did I complete the first draft of The Last Immortal on the 20th, I finished Dance of Desolation on the 21st! Both have now been sent off to beta readers and I hope to get feedback returned in 1-2 weeks, implement it...and then off to publish both! So exciting that I'm so close to 4 books published from my current 2.
I'm also editing my 2 currently published books while waiting, just for something to do and because the recent reviews and feedback have shown me where I can--and need to--improve. All four will be my best works, as much as I can make them, once they're all out by the end of August at the latest, I'm hoping! Finally finished the last edits of The Last Immortal and sent to beta readers! Looking forward to seeing their feedback prior to my going through the book again, and THEN finally publishing. :D I have also gotten a few interviews in the meantime (an author interview and a character--from Watership--interview): http://cjwrightbooks.blogspot.co.uk/2016/06/my-interview-withjenna-whittaker.html https://brittanymwillows.wordpress.com/2016/06/20/character-focus-interview-with-jenna-whittaker/ I read 2 novels recently that I just had to share! They're very well written, and I have included my reviews here. I really recommend that you check out his other novels in the series! Shadow of the Avatar (Ring Realms novel book 1): https://www.amazon.com/Ring-Realms-Novel-Savants-Shadow-ebook/dp/B003Z0CUBY In Shadow of the Avatar, Will Greenway brings to life a world of gods, goddesses, familiar and created mythology, in a way that’s completely unique. The writing itself, in terms of skill at worldbuilding, plotting, characterisation, etc, is absolutely fantastic. Will Greenway’s writing is professional and really drew me into the story, as well as his concepts of ‘avatars’. I highly recommend anyone to check this story out; he has an entire series in the world of the Ring Realms! Hecate's Bounty (Ring Realms book 2): https://www.amazon.com/Ring-Realms-Novel-Savants-Hecates-ebook/dp/B003Z0D2BG Hecate’s Bounty follows along nicely as a sequel to Shadow of the Avatar, expanding on and exploring more of Wren’s struggles and journey of character growth. The writing is top-notch and filled with action, which, while it can get tiring, does have moments of calm for the reader to gain their bearings. All in all, Hecate’s Bounty is another great example of Will Greenway’s writing, drawing me into the story with both its realism and the way its magical aspects are realistically portrayed! I was lucky enough to get a featured interview done, have a look at it here:
http://cjwrightbooks.blogspot.co.uk/2016/06/my-interview-withjenna-whittaker.html I've also been busy writing more on Dance of Desolation! It's at 56,400 words and showing no signs of winding down. I think this will be one of my longest novels. I haven't even worked out the ending yet; just letting the characters and plot go where it will--and it's going some really interesting places! I'm almost finished editing The Last Immortal and am sending it out to beta readers on Monday. Very much looking forward to receiving their feedback, implementing it, and finally publishing the book! Shouldn't be more than 2 months to go, at the very longest. Fantastic review of my 2nd novel, Watership:
http://www.narrativeinnovations.net/2016/06/10/book-review-watership-2/ 48,300 words in Dance of Desolation! So very close. I've also created new promotional graphics for Dreamscape & Watership: Been quite busy doing editing of submissions for Writer's Exchange, as well as reading a number of books for review. I finally finished all those to review, and now have another I need to beta read! I wonder why I do this to myself. :P
In regards to Dance of Desolation, the current WIP, I am at 45,600 words! Less than 5,000 to go! I will complete the first, rough draft by the 16th of this month, and will probably start editing the 1st draft of The Last Immortal (to publish within about a month or two from now, finally) on the same day. I'll be participating in more blog tours and author interviews soon, so keep an eye out! |
