I've started a new WIP, which probably will take a lot longer than my other books to be complete--both because I'm implementing a lot of things I've learned on the way, and because I'm writing it longer than my usual (which is a bit shorter than a novel should be) so it'll be around 70-90k words, I'm hoping!
The first 10,000 words are already down, and I'm starting to get a clear idea of the setting, and some of the characters! Their conflicts seem to be rather organically creating themselves, instead of being forced, so that's really nice. It's going to be very interesting...how many novels have you read of a swampland where if a dweller leaves, they lose their mind--or become something other than human? Where death isn't instant, but is a process the body and mind goes through in stages...and the people don't know it? Gonna be good! :)
